Equipped with internet and other IT infrastructure, CSCs are the front-end delivery points for government, private and social sector services to the rural citizens of India. The Arunodoy Common Service Centre (CSC) initiative of the IT Department has envisaged rolling out 4375 CSCs across the state. The CSCs are not just mere booths, but are poised to become change agents that would promote rural entrepreneurship, build rural capacities and livelihoods, enable community participation and collective action for social change through a bottom-up model. Out of the 3979 CSCs rolled out till date, 2841 of them are currently active.
